Second Sunday in Advent
The Rev. Paul Fuener
The general theme I’m pulling from the readings this week is that we are living in the “in-between age,” which is the time or gap between Jesus Christ’s first coming – His incarnation, life on earth, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension – and His second coming, when He returns at the end of time to judge the earth and gather His people, His Church, into Eternal Life with Him in glory. The sermon will look at this in-between age, and we’ll seek to answer the question: How shall we live in this age? Or, asked another way, what difference does “living in the gap” make in how we spend our lives as Christians? The Epistle lesson offers some clear guidance for us. I pray you will join us for worship this 2nd Sunday in Advent.
With much love and many prayers,
