The Rev. Paul Fuener
As you might well imagine, the theme for Maundy Thursday is what Jesus commanded us at the Last Supper – to celebrate Communion when we gather, and to wash one another’s feet: what they mean, and why we take Him seriously (or should!). The question will be: Are we keeping His commandments? At the end of the service, we dim the church and strip the altar of all adornment in preparation for Good Friday, the somberness reflecting our heart attitude as we contemplate our Lord’s crucifixion.
